This course can be taken after completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification. It's titled PADI Advanced Open Water Diver because it advances your diving knowledge & skills.
That’s what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.
You'll hone your skills by completing five adventure dives that introduce you to:
A PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization) 15 years old (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)
You use all the basic scuba gear including your underwater compass.
You are required to either rent our equipment or have your own.
As certified divers, you are required to make all rental reservations in advance.
Required Materials • Primary Light • Backup Light • Tank Marker • Cutting Tool (Knife or line cutter)
The Learning Materials You Need PADI's Adventures in Diving Manual provides information on more than 15 types of specialty diving. You'll use it as a guidebook to improve your diving skills and prepare for new experiences and adventures.
American Divers International offers the Advanced Open Water Course once per month. The course structure is as follows: 2 nights of academic instruction on Monday/Wednesday, or Tuesday/Thursday, 6:30pm-10:00pm. 5 open water dives in the ocean down in Pompano Beach: 2 tank dives on Saturday afternoon, 1 tank night dive Saturday night, 2 tank dives on Sunday morning. Course duration is one week.
Course refund is valid for 12 months from the sign up date & up to 7 days prior to class beginning. There are no refunds or credits issued within 7 days of the start date. If I cancel or reschedule within 7 days of the start date I will be assessed a $75 fee.
Should I miss any of the scheduled dives, I will forfeit those boat fees & rentals. I will be required to pay a $75 rescheduling fee and the boat fees for all rescheduled dives.
Class attendance is mandatory. Any missed class will be required to be made up prior to the next class & student will be responsible for paying the instructor $50/hour. Cash Only.
